Hafa adai,
When we think of a cookie shop always bustling with tourists, the Honolulu Cookie Company comes to mind.
Located in the shopping arcade of Dusit Place in the heart of Tumon, it’s in an excellent location just inside the entrance at the intersection in front of T Galleria and JP Superstore.
Although it started in Hawaii, the shop has become extremely popular in Guam due to its adorable shapes and delicious taste. The pineapple-shaped cookies are a crisp shortbread type. The company itself started in 1998, so while it’s a popular souvenir representing Hawaii, it seems surprisingly still quite new.
Inside the store, there are various gift packages available. The beautiful combination of green and dark brown colors, reminiscent of the lush Hawaiian nature, leaves a strong impression.
There are different types of packaging, but about 12 flavors of cookies are available, including tropical fruit flavors and those dipped in chocolate. The number and types of cookies vary slightly depending on the package.
There are also Hawaii-themed packages with the word “ALOHA” written on them…
And even a Guam-exclusive version shaped like the island of Guam has appeared.
Seasonal limited-edition packages and cookie flavors are also very popular. Currently, under the theme “Aloha in Bloom,” there is a spring-themed heart-shaped tin with tropical flower designs, which was very popular for Valentine’s Day as well.
There is also a “Cookie a la Carte” corner where you can choose your favorite flavor. There are options ranging from small boxes with five cookies to extra-large boxes with 30, and you can even buy just one cookie. Samples are available, so be sure to find your favorite flavor.
Even though it’s a Hawaii-based brand, Honolulu Cookie Company is popular in Guam for its cuteness and deliciousness. For souvenirs, be sure to pick up the Guam-exclusive version. For home use, the bagged types offer great value.
