How to Refuel

Most gas stations in Guam are self-service.

Some stations also have full service, where an attendant fills the tank for you, but self-service is cheaper. Even if it is your first time, just follow these steps.

Choose a self-service pump

Park at a pump marked “Self Serve.”

“Full Serve” pumps are operated by an attendant and cost more.

Choose regular unleaded (Shell FuelSave)

Your car takes regular unleaded gas only. At Shell stations in Guam it is sold as “Shell FuelSave.” “V-Power” is premium and “Diesel” is diesel, so don’t use them. Nozzle colors vary by station, so go by the label.

Tell the cashier inside

Go to the cashier inside the store (or a nearby attendant) and tell them your pump number and “Fill up.”

Fill the tank

Open the fuel door, remove the cap, take the nozzle off the pump and lift the lever it was resting on. You are ready to go.
Put the nozzle into the tank and squeeze the handle to start fueling.

The pump stops automatically when the tank is full. That means you are done. Please do not squeeze the handle again to top it off, as fuel may overflow or the pump may be damaged. Put the nozzle back on the pump.

Pay at the cashier

When you are done, pay at the cashier and get a receipt.

Please show the receipt when you settle up after returning the car. Gas prices change often, so we cannot tell you the price in advance. Check the price on the pump (1 gallon is about 3.8 liters).

We will show you where the gas stations are when you pick up the car.
Cars are rented with a full tank, so please fill up at a gas station before you return the car. If the tank was not full at pickup, refill it to the pickup level.
*If you can’t refuel or the tank is short, the fuel will be charged at our standard rates. Our staff will go and refuel the car, so this costs more than filling up yourself, so please fill the tank before you return the car.
