Today, I’m introducing DAISO, a popular 100-yen shop from Japan. It opened last year inside Don Don Donki Guam. Inside the store, you can find a variety of affordable, high-quality products, such as kitchen supplies, cleaning items, stationery, interior goods, beauty products, daily necessities, and more. For this post, I’m focusing on convenience items and innovative products. These are the kinds of things I found while walking around the store and thought, “I’ve always wanted this!” or “This would be so convenient!” Let’s look.
DAISO is located right at the entrance of Village of Donki, a row of shops inside Don Don Donki Guam.
The store is packed with a wide variety of products, though it might be difficult to fully understand some of them if you can’t read Japanese. The items I’m about to introduce are easy-to-understand, practical ideas with no complicated explanations needed. Plus, they’re priced at $1.75 and up, which is a welcome price given the current rise in living costs. Let’s look!
These are popular face masks for post-cleansing facial care. This product allows you to use your favorite toner or lotion as a face mask. The masks are very small and compressed, stored in a small cup. After opening the cup, you simply soak the mask with your favorite toner or lotion, and it becomes a face mask.
This is a super compact fan. It’s small enough to fit in your pants pocket or a small handbag, making it handy when you’re out and about in Guam.
These foldable slippers are recommended for travel. You can take off your shoes on the airplane or in your hotel room and relax your feet.
This is a portable mini toilet. It’s handy during traffic jams, outdoor activities, or emergencies when you can’t get to a bathroom immediately. It contains water-absorbent polymer that turns urine into a gel instantly and seals it tightly. It could also be useful for families with young children.
This is a chip maker that lets you make vegetable chips in the microwave. Simply slice vegetables like potatoes thinly, remove excess moisture, arrange them in the chip maker, and microwave. The required heating time varies depending on the weight of the vegetables, and this is clearly stated. A great tool for making healthy snacks easily.
This sponge allows you to peel potatoes, carrots, and other vegetables without using a knife. The abrasive material is made from corn, so it’s safe. Simply wet the sponge and scrub the vegetables, this could even be something kids can help with!
This is a scrubber that attaches to a plastic bottle. You can fill it with water or detergent to clean, and there are different shapes of scrubbers to suit various uses.
