K-BBQ-BOX

Hafa ada!

Introducing a New Spot at the Micronesia Mall Food Court. This time, we’re featuring a new restaurant that recently opened in the food court at Micronesia Mall.

With around 20 restaurants and approximately 750 seats, the Micronesia Mall food court is one of the largest in the area. Focused mainly on Asian cuisine, it also includes popular American fast food chains, and it’s always bustling with people.

Joining the lineup this March is K-BBQ-BOX, a Korean-style restaurant. Like other Asian eateries here, it offers plate-style meals where you can freely choose your main dishes, and the plates come with rice and salad. What sets it apart is the Korean flair—plates come with japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), and sides include tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), introducing flavors not previously available in the food court.

Faced with many tempting options, I went with the one that seemed the most filling and cost-effective. The set included rice, cabbage salad, japchae, and two main dishes of my choice. Since I was quite hungry, I added three gyoza and a bottle of water for an extra $2.95.

Here’s what I got: I chose shrimp and chicken for the mains, topped with gyoza. All this for a total of $14.45—a pretty good deal for the portion size.

Everything looked delicious, so I also ordered tteokbokki and deep-fried seaweed rolls filled with japchae noodles from the side menu. The two items together came to $13.00.

The food was tasty across the board, and it seems to be a big hit with locals who are used to rice-based meals and Asian flavors.

The Micronesia Mall food court is already known for offering a wide variety of dishes, and the addition of Korean cuisine has further expanded its diversity. With other new stores opening and existing ones getting revamped, the food court continues to evolve. Be sure to stop by and enjoy!
